Ruim 70% van het cabinepersoneel van Level Airlines in Nederland is lid van de VNC. De afgelopen maanden hebben wij daarom geprobeerd om in gesprek te komen met het management van Level Airlines om jullie belangen te behartigen. Op herhaalde berichten van de VNC wordt op geen enkele manier gereageerd, wat wij zeer teleurstellend vinden.

De VNC is een vereniging die cabinepersoneel vertegenwoordigt bij verschillende luchtvaartmaatschappijen. Het recht op vereniging is een grondrecht in Nederland en als 70% van je cabinepersoneel lid is van de VNC is het niet meer dan fatsoenlijk dat je ook bereid bent in gesprek te gaan met de vertegenwoordiger van je personeel.
 
De VNC wil niet alleen jullie belangen behartigen, maar ook Level Airlines behoeden voor zaken die uiteindelijk tot boetes van de Nederlandse overheid kunnen leiden. Dat gaat over de plicht tot het betalen van belasting en het naleven van Nederlands dwingend recht, ook al is het Oostenrijkse recht van toepassing op de contracten van het cabinepersoneel. De Arbeidsomstandighedenwet, de Arbeidstijdenwet, de Wet minimumloon en minimumvakantiebijslag en het artikel in het Burgerlijk Wetboek over de ketenaansprakelijkheid voor de betaling van loon zijn wetten die nageleefd moeten worden, wat er ook in het contract staat. Doet Level Airlines dat niet dan doet ze jullie te kort en riskeert ze boetes.
 
Vandaag heeft de VNC een brief gestuurd naar CEO Frank Glander (link) en hem op deze zaken gewezen. Wij verwachten dat hij hier actie op gaat nemen. Wij zullen hem er in ieder aan geval blijven herinneren.

The VNC is calling upon CEO Frank Glander of Level Airlines to honor Dutch labor laws

More than 70% of Level Airlines Cabin Crew in the Netherlands is a member of the VNC.
In the last couple of months we have repeatedly asked for a meeting with management which have not been answered. This is very disappointing to us.
The VNC is an association who represents Cabin Crew at several airlines, the right to associate is a basic right in The Netherlands and when more than 70% of your employees are a member of our association it is nothing more than decent for the airline to have a dialog with the representatives of your employees
 
The VNC does not only want to talk about your needs, but also want to inform Level Airlines about matters that could results into fines by the Dutch Government for potential violations. This concerns the duty to pay taxes and to comply with Dutch mandatory law, even though Austrian law applies to cabin crew contracts. The Working Conditions Act, the Working Hours Act, the Minimum Wage and Minimum Holiday Allowance Act and the article in the Civil Code on chain liability for the payment of wages are laws that must be observed, whatever the contract states. If Level Airlines does not do this, it will be disadvantageous you and Level Airlines risks fines.
 
Today, the VNC sent a letter to CEO Frank Glander (link) and reminded him of these matters. We expect him to take action on this. We will continue to remind him of it.
