De afgelopen dagen hebben de easyJet sectie-leden kunnen stemmen over het cao principe akkoord tussen easyJet en de VNC.

De uitslag van deze stemming kwam rond het middaguur binnen en was zeer verrassend: bijna 94% van de leden had gestemd en precies 50% stemden voor en 50% tegen.
De VNC statuten schrijven voor dat bij een gelijke uitslag de voorzitter van het sectiebestuur, in dit geval Ron Sneijder, de beslissende stem krijgt en bepaalt of de cao alsnog wordt aangenomen.
Na verschillende mogelijkheden te hebben afgewogen heeft het easyJet sectiebestuur besloten het cao-voorstel in huidige vorm niet te implementeren, er is simpelweg te weinig draagvlak met een negatieve stem van 50% van de leden.

Inmiddels is contact gezocht met vertegenwoordigers van easyJet om tot een oplossing te komen en het bedrijf heeft in een reactie laten weten niet op te willen geven en er alles aan te zullen doen om tot een passende en duurzame oplossing te komen.  

Ook de VNC blijft zich uiteraard inzetten voor een positieve oplossing en zal alle leden van de easyJet sectie op de hoogte blijven houden van de ontwikkelingen.

Results of the voting process for easyJet CLA

In the past few days, easyJet members could cast their votes on the tentative proposal for a new CLA.

The result of the vote came in around noon and was very surprising: almost 94% of the members voted and exactly 50% of the votes were in favour of the CLA and 50% against.
The VNC statutes dictate that in the case of equal results the chairman of the section, in this case Ron Sneijder, gets the final vote and decides whether the CLA will be implemented.
After contemplating different possibilities, the easyJet section board has decided that the CLA will not be implemented in its current form. There simply isn’t enough support for it with 50% of the members voting negatively.
 
Contact has already been made with representatives of easyJet to come to a solution as soon as possible and the company stated in a reaction that they haven’t given up their intention to work together and that they’re committed to come to a suitable and sustainable solution.

Naturally, VNC will also do everything possible to work towards a positive solution and will keep all easyJet section members informed about the developments.
