Teken de petitie tegen gedwongen zelfstandig ondernemerschap van cabinepersoneel

De overkoepelende organisatie van Europese vakbonden EurECCA* roept de Europese autoriteiten op praktijken van luchtvaartmaatschappijen te stoppen die cabinepersoneel dwingen als zelfstandig ondernemer te werken. ‘Samen Sterk’: onderteken de petitie klik op: Say NO to self-employment for Cabin Crew in Civil Aviation.

Hardnekkig gebruik van onbestaande thuisbasissen en schijnzelfstandigheid maar ook rechtsonzekerheid over relevante wetgeving zijn typische praktijkvoorbeelden van sommige luchtvaartbedrijven.
Binnen Europa wordt daarom nog altijd gestreden voor het standaardiseren van procedures en wet- en regelgeving. Dit is noodzakelijk om het gebruik van mazen in de EU-regelgeving te vermijden en voor crewleden fatsoenlijke arbeidsvoorwaarden, eerlijke concurrentie en gelijke sociale normen te garanderen.
Stop gedwongen zelfstandig ondernemerschap van cabinepersoneel want de COVID-19 pandemie heeft vooral de betreffende Europese cabinecollega’s al hard genoeg geraakt met baanverlies, salarisreductie en verslechtering van arbeidsvoorwaarden.

The COVID-19 pandemic hit hard on the aviation industry. We have seen job loss, lay off, pay cuts, and lowering working conditions for Cabin Crew. Say NO to self-employment for Cabin Crew in Civil Aviation.

The persistence on the use of fictious home bases, the use of bogus self-employment, and legal uncertainty regarding applicable law to workers are typical examples of practices by some companies dealing with aviation industry and business model.  
For civil aviation industry, with no borders and transnational companies, Europe is still fighting to harmonize procedures and legislation that will provide crew and airlines with an unambiguous regulatory framework to avoid the use of loop holes in EU regulations, to ensure fair working, hiring and employing conditions, as well as fair competition and equal social standards.
EurECCA has called the European authorities for a coordinated position to put an end to airlines forcing Cabin Crew to work as self-employed.
